Class Announcements
April
Good day parents, guardians and astute students,

The students are now powering through the remaining 8th grade modules for physical science and we now about the study Newton’s 3 laws of motion. Some would argue that this is a difficult concept. Not to our 8th grade. We will be using the game of baseball to help us get our minds around this so called taxing concept.

Let the games begin!

Science Fair Project
Happy New Year students and parents of Fred M Lynn Middle School. 2010 is going to be a strong academic year! To begin this new term and year we will be focusing our attention on the Science Fair Projects. This is an extremely exciting time of year where the students can explore any avenue of Science they wish wth very few limitations!

Each group will need a Tri-board from any of the local stationary stores ( Home Depot, Staples) for the week beginning Monday the 11th of January.

Let the games commence.
The Periodic Table
It has been a tough few weeks getting familiar with our new friend the Periodic Table. Learning the difference between Mass and Atomic numbers has proved taxing but i'm sure you are now experts in Mendeleev's eyes!

When we start back on the 4th we will be focusing our attention towards the Science Fair Project. So please feel free to use your time over the Christmas holiday to research and find a suitable topic you would like to investigate.

Look forward to seeing you all after your holiday!

To bring in for week beginning 19th
Having investigated the physcial and chemical changes of choccolate and egg whites we are now going to make slime. This slime is used in Hollywood for certain movies. However we need you to bring in the cleaning product BORAX.

We also need food coloring (any color will do)

Thanks

Friday 10/09 (Odd) & 10/12 (Even) I need some solid air freshner. This is a very good visual and exciting practical

Tuesday 10/13 (Odd) 10/14 (Even) This is an amazing lab with the real "wow" factor. I need a carton of egg whites and some squared choccolate to melt and freeze.
